Our Kids are the most important part of our work. This week, we are highlighting student voices from the Brain Forest Summer Academy. Check out the first contributor to our blog, 4th grader Erikah Gandy!

Hi, my name is Erikah Gandy and I go to Wares Ferry Elementary school. I am a 4th grader. I was in the Brain Forest Academy. My teachers made learning fun because we learned multiplication in cool ways and we played inside. We learned place value by moving around the classroom. I have made new friends.

My favorite part was field trips. Brain Forest took us on field trips to the zoo, the Civil Rights museum, and Martin Luther King Jr.’s house. The class learned about Martin Luther King Jr. and how important he is to our history. I also am enjoying my novel Lemonade Wars. I really enjoyed myself at the Brain Forest this summer and I look forward to next summer.

We know that with access to high-quality summer learning, Our Kids (like Erikah) Can. Help us continue to make it happen! If you'd like to support the Brain Forest program, go to this link  or click the button below to donate or create your own fundraising page.
