2017 Brain Forest Student Applications NOW AVAILABLE!
Dear Brain Foresters:
The application is now open for the 2017 Brain Forest Summer Academy! Please read the message below, and access the student application at the bottom of this page. We expect this year to be in high demand, so please submit your application ASAP. DO NOT PRINT ONLINE APPLICATION. SUBMIT ONLINE ONLY. Here are some guidelines:
A) As always, the goal of this program is to prevent summer learning loss and help students start the next school year off prepared. Our program attempts to focus on the students who are most at-risk of summer loss.
B) The program will be held from June 12-July 21st at Carver High School from 8 am – 4 pm. We will be taking the full week of July 3rd-7th off for the July Fourth Holiday.
C) This year, we will have a total of 260 slots available. All slots are given to families based on first-come, first-serve basis. After all 260 slots have been filled, we will begin our waitlist.
D) Students must be going into the 4th, 5th, or 6th grade in a Montgomery Public School. We will require you to submit a copy of your child’s most recent report card as proof.
E) Due to our funding source, we will accept a no more than 10 magnet students per grade (or about 12% of the total program population).
F) If your child is accepted, you will be expected to attend one of our Parent and Guardian Orientations on June 7th or June 8thfrom 4-6 pm. Lack of attendance will resort in loss of your spot.
All applicants will be notified by Friday, May 12th BY EMAIL if your child has been accepted or placed on our waitlist. If you have any questions regarding the application process, please contact our office at 334-647-1700. Please do no contact Carver High School regarding the application.
