SUMMER POSITIONS NOW AVAILABLE IN THE BRAIN FOREST
SUMMER LEARNING PROGRAMS!
Would you like to make a difference in Montgomery kids’ lives this summer while gaining valuable insight into teaching practices, community work, and alleviating the summer slide? Work with us this summer in one of our two Brain Forest Summer Learning Programs!
The Brain Forest Summer Learning Academy:
The Brain Forest Summer Learning Academy is a 5-week program that aims to prevent summer learning loss. The full-day program will offer rising third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students mornings of math and reading enrichment and afternoons of arts enrichment and physical activity. Enrollment is first-come, first-serve and is open to any student enrolled in Montgomery Public Schools and living within the Montgomery city limits. This program creates a fun, innovative environment where current and future educators and students work and learn together to stop the summer slide (loss of learning that occurs when students are not engaged in educational activities). All teachers and Instructional Directors must currently work or teach in a Montgomery Public School. Classroom assistants may be current college students or recent graduates with an interest in education and/or community work. Please click the links below to apply:

The Brain Forest Reading on Wheels Mobile Library:
The 2017 Reading on Wheels Program (ROW) is a 7-week initiative aiming to engage Montgomery’s youth during the summer with access to our fully stocked mobile library and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) learning labs. This program, offered by the Montgomery Education Foundation (MEF), ensures communities in the city, as well as in rural areas, have access to a high quality summer enrichment experience. Reading on Wheels Instructional Staff will visit community centers, churches, YMCAs, and Boys & Girls clubs to work with students (ages 6-16) by facilitating literacy activities and hands-on STEM projects.
